Marseille are set to make an offer for Swansea City forward Bafétimbi Gomis, claim the French media. The 31-year-old has just spent the season on loan with Marseille from Swansea City, where he’s been so successful he’s been wearing the captain’s armband.
L’Equipe have today reported on the latest developments with regards to the future of Gomis. It’s been claimed Marseille will table a ‘concrete proposal’ with Swansea City ‘by the end of the month’.
The Ligue 1 side’s coach Rudi Garcia is keen to keep Gomis at the club, even though the club are also looking to sign a big name striker.
Marseille are likely to face competition to sign Gomis, given his season in France. Turkish side Galatasaray are also interested signing the forward, with recent claims the Turkish club are set for transfer talks with Swansea City.
There’s also a chance the player will remain with the Premier League side after Swansea City manager Paul Clement revealed last week Gomis may still be in his plans for next season.
It’s all adds to a better Gomis situation than Swansea likely expected they’d be in.
