For the past few days, Italian website CalcioMercato.it have been one of the media outlets reporting that Maurizio Sarri is a potential replacement for José Mourinho at Tottenham Hotspur.
Now with more stories about the negotiations coming out of the English press, they’re quite glad about it, and bring the latest on the talks between the two parties.
Calcio Mercato writes that there are ‘frequent contacts’ between Spurs and Sarri’s entourage, and the move to the North London side is a ‘concrete possibility’.
Now even though the Italian coach wants to return to the Premier League at some stage, his preference at the time is to take charge of Roma, who currently have Paulo Fonseca close to the exit door.
The website also points out that Tottenham fans aren’t in a good mood due to the Super League failure, and show some resistance regarding Sarri’s recent past with Chelsea.
Calcio Mercato claims that Spurs still have a few other targets in mind. RB Leipzig’s Julian Nagelsmann is one of them, even though he’s on top of Bayern Munich’s list. It’s said the Premier League side should still make contacts for Massimiliano Allegri, who’s currently unemployed, and Leicester City’s Brendan Rodgers.
