Bologna lost 3-1 to Sassuolo on Sunday, and it’s fair to say the club’s local media isn’t very happy about it.
The front page of Monday’s Corriere di Bologna has a headline reading ‘Vacations’, suggesting that players have their minds on the beach already.
Inside there’s an article explaining some of Bologna’s plans for the summer, with incomings and outgoings, and that’s where West Ham are mentioned.
David Moyes’ side are said to have ‘concrete interest’ in Jerdy Schouten.
The 25-year-old Dutchman has a contract lasting until June 2024 with the Serie A club, and has been in and out of the team this season. The lack of minutes has been largely due to injuries, with the first half of the season something of a write-off for the player.
Since February he’s been more regular, and has had a meaningful role in Bologna’s midfield.
It would be a big jump from that to a starting place for West Ham, so there’s a good chance the Hammers would see him as a squad player, at least initially.
There’s no talk of fee or whether negotiations have started.
