Manchester United are likely to lose Marcus Rashford this month.
Despite all the disturbances and talk around his future, the Englishman remains the Red Devils’ joint highest scorer in the Premier League and is the second highest goalscorer in all competitions.
His absence will be felt at Old Trafford and that is why Manchester United may need a replacement.
L’Equipe‘s Loic Tanzi has reported that the replacement could be Napoli’s Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and there would be significant competition from Paris Saint-Germain.
The report states that ‘concrete contacts have begun’ for the Georgian from Manchester United’s end and the idea of a swap involving Rashford and 23-year-old Kvaratskhelia has also been floated about.
Napoli are not against a sale of the Georgia international, whose current contract at the Italian giants runs out in the summer of 2027. That is why both Manchester United and PSG are working behind the scenes for the winger.
While Kvaratskhelia might well be of interest to the Red Devils, his value is likely to be more than Rashford, who is clearly up for sale.
That is why a January move for the Napoli man would be quite difficult, and this all feels very speculative from L’Equipe.
