Mundo Deportivo are worried Marc Overmars is set to get a job as Arsene Wenger’s ‘right-hand’ man and will take two Ajax owned players to London with him.

Despite some reports saying Mundo claim Overmars to Arsenal is a done deal, that’s not the case, it’s simply reported the Dutchman can get a role at the Premier League club, not that he already has or absolutely will.

Should Overmars turn up at the Emirates, there’s a Catalan fear he’ll have Matthijs de Ligt and Kasper Dolberg tucked into his travelling luggage.

Both have been linked with Barcelona, albeit weakly, and now there’s this forced chance of losing them to Arsenal, it’s story worthy for Mundo Deportivo.

There’s nothing more to it than that, interest in De Ligt is talked up to be more than it almost certainly is. Previously it was Davinson Sanchez catching the eye, but Barcelona were never likely to pay what Tottenham did and then put the Colombian on the bench, especially with their current wage issues.

It isn’t even suggested that Wenger wants the players, just a great big assumption that Overmars will rate them and therefore try to take them with him wherever he goes. And then another assumption he’s going to Arsenal.

Ajax may have something to say about that, and the club’s fans would hope their next director of football will be strong enough to say no, something which has been doubted of Overmars.
