Goncalo Guedes to Wolves has, for years, had something of an inevitability to it.
With the Portuguese attacker represented by Jorge Mendes’ Gestifute group, he’s been linked with a move to the Premier League club endlessly. Add to that a need at Valencia to bring some money in, Mendes taking him to Wolves ticked a lot of boxes.
Claims came over the weekend saying the move could now finally happen, with Monday’s edition of AS reporting the transfer is ‘about to be completed’.
Wolves are thought to be paying around €30m for the 25-year-old, with a further €5m in potential bonuses payments for Valencia. AS state these figures are ‘lower than the market value’ for Guedes, so they present it as a good deal for Bruno Lage’s side.
The transfer is also seen as a good deal for the Spanish side, given they really need to bring some money in quickly.
Super Deporte, local to Valencia, report Wolves made an offer on Saturday, and Valencia are pretty much forced to accept it.
They state the club are saying goodbye to their ‘most decisive’ player of recent seasons.
