Chelsea are eyeing a move for AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie, should they need to replace N’Golo Kante at any point.
That’s according to Pianeta Milan, who say the Blues have ‘expressed interest’ in the midfielder and he remains in their ‘orbit’.
They explain that with his contract set to expire next year, Kessie is a ‘football market opportunity’ after becoming a ‘total midfielder’ over the last two years.
AC Milan fans are worried he could be set to leave on a free, particularly after losing Gianluigi Donnarumma and Hakan Calhanoglu, and that is obviously something the club want to avoid.
According to Pianeta’s information, the club have ‘singled him out’ as an ideal replacement for Kante, whose deal expires in 2023.
With that in mind, it is ‘not out of the question’ that they could sell next year and cash in on the Frenchman and were they to do so, then Chelsea could come calling for Kessie to fill the void.
That idea is currently ‘on the backburner’ for now, with Kessie’s priority seemingly to stay where he is and continue to developing as he has done for the last two years.
