Portuguese midfielder Filipe Melo may not be very useful for Sheffield Wednesday these days, but it doesn’t mean there aren’t clubs wanting him.
A Bola has a short story about the player today, and claims that there should be some competition to sign him in the summer transfer window.
Paços de Ferreira are said to be showing strong interest in the 27-year-old, but there’s no assurance they’re going to get him.
He’s already spent the last six months at the club on a loan deal from Sheffield Wednesday, and the newspaper doesn’t mention if the Portuguese side would like him permanently on another loan.
Either way, it won’t be easy. A Bola claims there’s ‘national and international’ competition for him, and The Owls could even decide to loan Melo to somewhere else with better conditions.
His contract with Sheffield Wednesday expires next year, so in case he’s loaned out again, it’s likely the club will agree a new deal first.
