Maybe Adrien Silva could finally be ready to fly to England soon.

After seeing his move to Leicester City collapse last summer, the player continue to be linked to Premier League clubs. And now it’s time for Tottenham Hotspur to be leading the race, according to Portuguese newspaper A Bola.

They say the London club are ‘committed’ in their pursuit for the midfielder and were already told that a deal could be found with a minimum of €30m on the table.

That’s exactly how much Leicester offered last year, but Sporting ended up demanding the midfielder’s full €45m release clause and didn’t let him go.

However, things are different now. Adrien wants to join a better league, Sporting need money and the player didn’t have a wonderful season to raise his price.

The negotiations are said to be on ‘standby’, but developments could be found soon because Stellar Group, the company which takes care of Adrien’s career, is set to meet Sporting to talk in the next few days.

Tottenham don’t want to take long to close the deal, claim A Bola. Besides avoiding competition, the club want it to be done before the Confederations Cup, which starts in a week, which Silva will be taking part in for Portugal.

The main problem here is that we think Tottenham interest is completely fabricated, as we explained last week. Mauricio Pochettino may have been interested a long time ago, but it’s merely a suggestion that interest could reignite which has led the Portuguese press forward.
