Guingamp coach Antoine Kombouare has told the French media Yannis Salibur should leave the club in the next window. The forward has been linked with a move to Leeds United after initial attempts were made to sign the player last summer.
Speaking to RMC Sport, Kombouare was asked about the future of Salibur, and whether he would leave the Ligue 1 side this summer.
The Guingamp boss confirmed Salibur has been told he can find a new club in the next window, but his valuation must be met. Kombouare went on to say if no serious interest is expressed in the player then he hopes he will stay with the Breton club.
“Salibur has an exit pass. He should leave, but if there isn’t that much interest or clubs don’t pay what we want, I’ll be very happy for him to stay,” said the Guingamp coach.
During the last summer window we covered reports from France that Leeds United boss Garry Monk was keen to sign the 26-year-old, and had tabled a bid for the player. However, the Championship side were turned down by the Guingamp star because he wanted to play at least one more season in Ligue 1.
Salibur recently stated he would be interested in a move to England, leading to claims in the British media he could again be option for Leeds United this summer.
However, Leeds United would need to convince Salibur to drop down to the Championship after two seasons in the French top flight.
