Newcastle United and Watford are two clubs who have been linked to Mattia Destro for a while, with the Italian press expecting them to go after the player during the next summer window.
And this interest has only gone stronger in the past few days, especially after both clubs sent a scout to watch the striker this weekend, as reported by Tutto Mercato Web.
It was claimed Watford and Newcastle were present during Bologna’s game against Pescara on Sunday, when Destro scored a brace in the 3-1 win.
Now it’s Calcio Mercato who comes up with a story about interest from Rafael Benitez and Walter Mazzarri, and besides reporting the scouting, they also give the player a price.
The website claims it’s the right time for Bologna to make some money from the 26-year-old, and the club would start listening to offers of at least €10m.
Destro has been living some great form and scored five goals in the last four league games. But his season record isn’t quite as impressive overall, as he has 11 goals in 31 matches.
