Anderlecht have made signing Lukas Nmecha from Manchester City a ‘priority’ this summer after his impressive performances for the club this season.
The German has been on loan with Anderlecht since the summer after leaving the Etihad in search of regular playing time.
He’s enjoyed that under Vincent Kompany, establishing himself as the club’s first-choice striker with 14 goals and three assists in 31 games in the Jupiler Pro League.
He’s out of contract with Manchester City next summer, and the Belgian side are keen to take advantage of that to bring him to the club permanently.
There have already been numerous reports about their efforts to make that happen, with it stated earlier this month that it was an open secret they wanted a deal, but the €20m asking price may prove to be too high.
Het Nieuwsblad pick up the thread today and back the claims Anderlecht want a deal as their season and qualification for the Europa Conference League ‘rests on the shoulders’ of Nmecha’s 18 goals.
They’ve made it a ‘priority’ to buy the loanee now and would preferably like to get a deal done before August 5th.
Contrary to reports, they believe the transfer fee is ‘achievable’ although there is also his salary to consider, with the suggestion they could make things more difficult.
There is no mention of an asking price here, but after an impressive season, it’s now very clear Anderlecht will do everything they can to get Nmecha from Manchester City this summer.
