With Chelsea currently unable to renew contracts due to the sanctions imposed on the club, the Premier League side are at a risk of losing a few players to free transfers this summer.
Of course, none of the players on expiring contracts need to sign anything with another team just yet if they want to remain at Stamford Bridge going forward, as a change of ownership, which is going to happen, should fix everything.
However, that isn’t stopping clubs from approaching Chelsea players such as Antonio Rüdiger, which is exactly what Juventus are doing.
Corriere dello Sport report on Tuesday that the Turin side’s ‘negotiation’ with the Germany international ‘continues’.
In fact, it’s made very clear that Juventus’ ‘offer is there and is considered important’, perhaps by their own standards, because ‘the distance from his requests resists, as well as the competition’ from other clubs, who are keen to sign the Chelsea star themselves.
Either way, it will likely all come down to Rüdiger down the line, who has been reported elsewhere as wanting to stay if he can, but that remains out of his hands for the time being.
