Crystal Palace were one of the clubs that came forward to sign Paris Saint-Germain’s Hugo Ekitiké in the last window.
On deadline day, claims from the French press stated that the Eagles had found an agreement with the striker but the Ligue 1 side weren’t interested in letting him leave on loan.
Fast forward to October and RMC Sport explain what lies ahead for Ekitiké, and they also point out Crystal Palace’s failure to secure his services.
It’s claimed the Paris club rejected loan offers with options to buy, including one from Roy Hodgson’s side, for the 21-year-old in the summer window.
RMC Sport say PSG’s decision to turn down Crystal Palace’s offer is ‘surprising’, especially since their proposal was ‘adequate’ as it included a €35m purchase option.
The French club’s desire was to send him to Eintracht Frankfurt as part of the operation for Randal Kolo Muani but that didn’t happen and the latter arrived at Parc des Princes on deadline day.
It’s said the ‘consequences are disastrous’ for Ekitiké who hasn’t played since coming off the bench against Lorient in August. Taking his current situation into account, RMC Sport indicate he could change clubs in the winter market.
On September 28th, Culture PSG stated Crystal Palace could look at the player in January, and the latest report from RMC Sport may come as a boost for the London club, as long as they are still keen to sign him.
