The future of Alexis Sanchez is being widely discussed in the South American media today.

The reason for that was a report from the English press saying the player is unlikely to stay at Manchester United following his loan spell at Inter Milan.

With the Italian and the Premier League sides not willing to use the Chilean star, it’s been claimed that his future could lie in ‘MLS, Middle East, China or South America’.

So Chilean outlets are now wondering where could he fit in South America, with several suggestions being made today.

Colo Colo fans obviously get excited with the possibility of having Sanchez back at the club, and that’s why website Dale Albo was one of the first to wonder if they could afford such a signing.

Website En Cancha has a more complete story listing several sides who could get the Manchester United player. These would be Flamengo, River Plate, Atletico Mineiro and Universidad de Chile.

Of course there’s no information on talks for Sanchez for now, with these outlets only wondering about the chances these clubs would have to get him. It’s said he’d cost around US$20m (£17m).

Despite having a bad couple of seasons, Sanchez is still a world star and it looks quite unlikely that he’d return to South America at the age of 31. Especially because he has a contract until 2022 and Manchester United wouldn’t sell him for little.
