Tuttosport have an update, of sorts, on the Matteo Darmian situation today, of course they do, and the feeling is that the deal has edged a little further away from being done.
The problem seems to be that Juventus didn’t feel they’d have any problem whatsoever agreeing a fee with Manchester United for the player, and now they’ve been asked for a bigger fee than expected they’re almost annoyed.
On Monday there were claims of the Premier League club looking for an ‘everest’ of a fee, and now Tuttosport say Juventus won’t be ‘blackmailed’.
The Turin newspaper say: ‘United, at the moment, shouts to the four winds that the white smoke will only occur if Juventus will offer the required 20 million.’
Basically, Manchester United are trying to stick to their guns.
Corriere dello Sport had talk of a compromise in their Wednesday edition, and that’s likely the way things will go, but Tuttosport want to push forward the threat that Juve will move to other options if a deal isn’t agreed.
