Tottenham’s Bryan Gil is a potential target for Spanish side Cadiz, who want to take advantage of his lack of minutes under Antonio Conte.
That’s’ according to Estadio Deportivo, cited by Mundo Deportivo, who say Alvaro Cervera’s side are keen on the 20-year-old.
They explain that after arriving from Sevilla in a €25m deal, which included Erik Lamela, in the summer, things have not gone well for Gil in London.
He has stern competition for places in the Tottenham squad, with superstars such as Heung-min Son and the likes of Lucas Moura and Steven Bergwijn also options.
Neither Nuno Espirito Santo nor Antonio Conte ‘seem to count’ on the player, who is currently out of contention with COVID-19.
That’s a situation Cadiz are willing to ‘put a solution’ on the table for, at least ‘momentarily’ by offering a loan deal in the January transfer window.
Cervera’s team want to add reinforcements in the winter window to help them escape the relegation zone and view Gil as the perfect option.
They believe the Tottenham man would see the move ‘with good eyes’ and as a ‘very interesting’ option for him as it would allow him to get regular minutes between now and the end of the season.
That’s important if he is to be a part of Julen Lopetegui’s Spain squad for the World Cup in Qatar, as the youngster has fallen out of contention due to his lack of playing time with Tottenham.
Whether they will sanction a sale isn’t mentioned, but it’s hard to imagine they’ll resist given Gil has barely featured so far.
