If there’s one certainty out there these days, it’s that Leicester City’s Rachid Ghezzal has benefited from his loan move to Beşiktaş this season.
Operating as a right winger, he has starred for the Süper Lig side, scoring five goals and registering 17 assists in 28 league matches.
The Algeria international’s fine displays have helped him regain his place in the national team and have also convinced the Istanbul based club to try and make the 28-year-old’s stay permanent.
However, according to En Son Haber, the Foxes owned player’s performances this term have caught AS Monaco’s attention, where the winger previously spent one season before moving to the King Power Stadium in 2018.
In fact, it’s claimed Monaco have ‘started negotiations’ with Brendan Rodgers’ side for the forward.
Beşiktaş’ management want to keep Ghezzal, and therefore, ‘will make all kind of sacrifices’ to meet the €7m fee requested by Leicester.
Over the weekend, Ghezzal’s agent Hakan Korkmaz also admitted his client wants to continue in Turkey, giving his current side the upper hand over Monaco.
“Sergen Yalçın [Beşiktaş manager] is one of the biggest reasons why he wants her to stay here. Because he gained confidence with Yalçın. He hasn’t been to the national team in about three years. He hasn’t played in a long time, he’s started playing, he’s got confidence,” Korkmaz told Beyaz TV, as relayed by Sporx.
