Liam Cooper is set to earn €800,000 a year for three years at CSKA Sofia after joining them from Leeds United.
That’s according to Bulgaria’s Telegraph, who provide more details on the Leeds United legend’s new deal at the Bulgarian club.
They explain that CSKA have made a ‘solid transfer’ in the move for the Leeds United legend, but it will end up costing them a pretty penny.
These are two ‘tranches’ of €50,000 each, which have to be paid by the end of next year. Thus, Cooper will take home €800,000 for the first part of his contract.
That was one of several victories the Leeds favourite enjoyed during contract negotiations, having also managed to convince Sofia to give him a three-year deal. The club had initially pushed for one, or perhaps two years give he is 33 years old.
Instead, he got his way and a healthy pay packet on top too, making his exit from Elland Road all the sweeter.
