AFC Bournemouth allowed Asmir Begović to spend the last season on loan at Qarabağ and AC Milan.
The Serie A side took the goalkeeper on a temporary deal in January after letting Pepe Reina join Aston Villa on loan the same month.
Reina has returned to the San Siro, and he’s now edging closer towards joining Lazio.
According to Milan News, the Rossoneri ‘want to keep’ 33-year-old Begović as a backup for Gianluigi Donnarumma.
It’s claimed the Italians are ‘talking’ to the Bosnia and Herzegovina international to keep him at the club for one more year.
There’s no clear indication if Milan are looking to take the custodian on loan or on a permanent deal this summer, but his Bournemouth contract expires next summer so there’s going to have to be a solution to please all parties.
As per the claims, there was a ‘dialogue’ between Stefano Pioli’s side and the player on Tuesday.
Calciomercato are also discussing Milan’s interest in signing Begović, and state there has been ‘continuous contact’ with the goalkeeper’s entourage.
The website further explains ‘in the next few hours, it can be closed’, which suggests a deal could be concluded soon.
