Ezgjan Alioski still hasn’t signed a new contract with Leeds United, and until he does, or completes a move elsewhere, there’s going to be questions about his future.
The North Macedonia international can now fully concentrate on his future following his country’s exit from Euro 2020 at the group stage. Marcelo Bielsa’s side still hope to get a renewal with Alioski and right now they seem the best option available for him.
Repeat claims of Super Lig interest have come from Turkey, and on Monday Fanatik carry that on. They report that Trabzonspor have been spurred into more serious action, after Fenerbahce moved into the picture for the 29-year-old.
Trabzonspor want to make sure they seal the deal ahead of Fener and have scheduled a new meeting with the player’s camp. They want to ‘hurry up and finish the transfer’, yet it would still seem a strange choice for Alioski to make.
Unless he’s been offered better terms and/or a much longer contract, continuing as a regular at Elland Road is easily the higher level for his career.
