Spanish newspaper AS has published an article on Premier League interest in two Real Betis players.
They reference reports from England, which have stated Newcastle United are keen on Nabil Fekir, and West Ham United are looking at Borja Iglesias.
AS concentrate on Fekir, and explain that despite the Frenchman being a star for Betis in the recently concluded season, no player at the club is non-transferable if the right money arrives.
It’s explained that some contact has been made by interested clubs, but those approaches have mentioned figures of around €35m, and AS feel that’s far from the amount Betis would be willing to sell for.
They’ll only consider sales of their better players if the deals produce a ‘good capital gain’ and can seriously help with the club’s accounts.
Lyon are entitled to a percentage of a Fekir sale, and the Betis deal to buy him cost around €20m plus a further €10m in bonus payments.
Iglesias cost around €30m from Espanyol, and there’s a feeling it would be difficult to make a good profit, yet that’s what Betis would be looking for.
