On July 3rd, we covered a report from Corriere dello Sport, who explained Bologna will make a decision on Thursday whether to sign Pedro Obiang from  West Ham United or Nicolás Domínguez from Vélez Sarsfield.

It was also explained the Serie A club believe both players would be available for a fee of around €10m.

Journalist Alfredo Pedulla now brings the latest update in regards to the Italian club’s interest in the Hammers midfielder.

He claims there’s been ‘new contacts’ in the past few hours for the West Ham man, who has already played under Bologna manager Siniša Mihajlović when the two were at Sampdoria.

Mihajlović considers the 27-year-old’s profile as the right fit for his side’s midfield.

Therefore, Bologna want to ‘go all the way’ to get the player from Manuel Pellegrini’s side, keen to back their manager.

There’s no mention of the fee Bologna are willing to pay for West Ham for Obiang, and if a deal doesn’t take shape, Domínguez is identified as an alternative.
