On Wednesday, we covered a piece from Italian newspaper Il Tempo saying AS Roma are confident they’re signing Pedro Rodriguez from Chelsea.

It’s been reported the Serie A side have ‘accelerated’ their attempt to sign the winger, and are getting rid of some players so they can afford his salary.

Now an ‘exclusive’ report from Calcio Mercato comes up with similar claims, but coming from Pedro’s side of the table.

It’s said that despite being strongly linked with an MLS move in January, the Spaniard has now decided to stay in Europe. And Roma would be the club closest to getting him.

Calcio Mercato says Juventus also became interested in the signing, but have only made preliminary contacts so far. Roma, on the other hand, are pressing ‘constantly’.

The Giallorossi are only waiting for a final ‘yes’ from Pedro so they can conclude an agreement. Since he’s at the end of his contract with Chelsea, the Blues won’t get a penny for the move.
