After a bit of a quiet period regarding Oleksandr Zinchenko to Napoli, it seems the Ukrainian’s potential transfer is on the verge of coming back to life.
Expected to be done by now, it appears that the possibility of signing either Denis Suarez and Samu Castillejo put the Manchester City youngster’s move on the back burner.
This is what Gazzetta dello Sport are reporting on Wednesday, as they explain that while that is still the case, the fact both the Barcelona and Villarreal playmakers want guaranteed first-team football makes a deal for either of them rather unlikely.
This is where the ‘easy’ move for Zinchenko comes in, as whoever arrives will be expected to play backup to Sarri’s front three, according to the Italian newspaper.
It’s already been explained many times that the 20-year-old is very much in favour of a move to the south of Italy, and a loan with a view to buy remains the most likely outcome.
It seems we might have to wait until tomorrow for this one to happen, but unless the two La Liga players change their mind, Zinchenko’s brief time at Manchester City could already be coming to an end.
