Swansea City links with Santiago Arias have been a cause of confusion for around a week.

When the UK press were claiming Swansea were close to signing the defender, the Dutch press said PSV hadn’t heard a thing. Then it was reported Swansea had even made an offer for Arias, but still PSV were in the dark.

Now, with a day left of the transfer window, Arias is away with the Colombia national squad, and his move to Swansea City all up in the air.

Soccer News in the Netherlands are confused because they believed an Arias exit was pretty much nailed on, to Swansea City or elsewhere.

On Tuesday, Brabants Dagblad reported that whilst many feel a Swansea City transfer is close, there’s little concrete in it. Interest is accepted, but BD explained the Welsh club hadn’t yet tried to come to an agreement with either Arias or PSV.

Maybe Swansea are just looking forward to the thrill of a very late signing.
