Yesterday we covered reports from Turkey that Aston Villa are interested in signing Galatasaray defender Christian Luyindama and are preparing a €12m offer.
After signing Trezeguet from Kasimpasa this week, it was reported the Premier League side are in the market for a central defender and have turned their attention to the Super Lig once again, this time for Cim Bom defender Luyindama.
Today Fotomac claim Galatasaray are waiting for a bid from Aston Villa and they now find themselves in a battle to keep hold of the DR Congo international. The 25 year old played his part in Galatasaray’s league and cup double last season and their manager Fatih Terim is keen to keep hold of the player.
This contrasts to claims yesterday that the club would be happy to negotiate a sale, but it may be a manager versus club situation.
Fotomac claim if Aston Villa bid around €15m then Galatasaray may consider selling after they signed him for just €8m just a month ago.
Previous reports said this was €5m but they also paid Standard Liege €3m to loan him last season.
Luyindama made 11 appearances for the Istanbul club last season and is under contract at the Turk Telekom Arena until June 2023.
