Very openly discussing the idea of bringing back Alexandre Lacazette to France from Arsenal, Lyon are going to have to face some competition for the Frenchman’s signing.
That’s because Ligue 1’s Rennes are also on the case if Le10 Sport are to be believed on Wednesday afternoon.
The website make it clear in the headline that they are ‘trying everything’ to sign the Arsenal striker, whose contract at the Emirates runs out at the end of the month.
Having qualified for the Europa League, the club are in a better position than Lyon, who finished 10th, although the latter do have the advantage of being Lacazette’s former club and one he loves dearly.
It’s said the Arsenal man is ‘right at the top of the pile’ of Florian Maurice’s list, with it helping that he knows ‘the player well’ and ‘dreams of making him come to Brittany’.
However, this all remains a ‘complex affair’, considering where he currently plays and the money he is earning there.
One to keep an eye on.
