Over the past few weeks, we have seen many articles written about the future of Arsenal’s Lucas Torreira, currently on loan at Fiorentina.
The midfielder has been a great success for the Serie A side, and there is almost no debate as to whether the Serie A side will try to make the deal permanent at the end of the season.
The question is whether Arsenal would be willing to grant some sort of discount on the pre-agreed €15m negotiated last summer, but that’s something Corriere Fiorentino believe ‘is more difficult’.
They point out this is something the two clubs ‘will compete’ about very soon, suggesting talks, and ‘the appointment is set for the month of April’, meaning that ‘a blitz in London’ by Fiorentina ‘is not excluded’.
That being said, ‘everything suggests that (discount or not) Torreira will be a player of Fiorentina in the end’.
The Uruguay international has been one of the stars in Florence since his arrival, making himself at home in Vincenzo Italiano’s squad, scoring four goals and assisting another in 28 appearances in all competitions.
