Tottenham Hotspur could make an attempt to take Milan Škriniar away from Inter Milan.
That’s according to FcInterNews, who state the Serie A side have a meeting planned with the 27-year-old’s entourage between the end of September and start of October, to sort out his renewal. He has less than 12 months left on his current deal.
Simone Inzaghi’s side want to propose the defender a deal worth €5.5m net per year plus €1m bonuses. This isn’t enough, considering that Paris Saint-Germain, who wanted him in the summer, proposed him a salary of €7.5m per year plus €1.5m in bonuses.
The Ligue 1 winners are still interested in the Slovakia international and have a €30m bid ready to take him away from the San Siro in the winter market. If PSG make an offer, the Nerazzurri leaders have to decide whether or not to sell him.
In the event the centre-back and Inter fail to find an agreement over an extension and he is still in Milan after January, Tottenham would come into the picture. The Italian club are told to watch out for the Premier League ‘temptation’ and Spurs are named in the report.
It’s said Tottenham are considering making an investment to bring Škriniar to the north London club next summer, when it would be ‘very convenient’, given that he will be a free agent then.
That would be a typical Fabio Paratici plan, and a method he practised at Juventus.
There’s a long way to go to reach that point. FcInterNews end their report by stating that ‘the game is wide open, and the ending is not so obvious’, suggesting that anything could happen with Škriniar’s future.
