Manchester City allowed Marlos Moreno to join Portimonense on a season-long loan deal in July.
The forward’s temporary move to the Portuguese side hasn’t worked out. He has been restricted to only two starts in the league and has failed to manage a goal or an assist in nine appearances this term.
According to A Bola, the Colombia international is not included in Portimonense manager António Folha’s plans for the second half of the season and therefore, the City owned player’s loan deal will be cut short in January.
Moreno has not convinced so far, which is why they are sending him back to the Etihad. Luckily for him and City, there are ‘several clubs interested’ in signing the South American.
Moreno arrived at the Etihad from Atlético Nacional in 2016, but has never represented the Premier League side.
The English champions have sent him out on loan since 2016 and the forward has had spells at Deportivo La Coruña, Girona, Flamengo and Santos Laguna.
Moreno has struggled at all these clubs and Portimonense is now added to the list.
