According to an exclusive report from Besiktas website Orta Cizgi, the Super Lig side are interested in signing Newcastle United defender DeAndre Yedlin.
Besiktas are in the market for a right-back this summer after losing veteran Gokhan Gonul to Fenerbahce, and they’ve also been linked with a move for AS Roma’s Davide Santon.
Orta Cizgi claim Newcastle United’s Yedlin is another target for the Turkish side and that they’ve added him to their shortlist. The Black Eagles are looking to rebuild their squad after a disappointing season, but have a limited transfer budget.
Orta Cizgi haven’t given any indication whether Besiktas will pursue a temporary or a permanent deal but the fact Yedlin will become a free agent at the end of next season, means the Istanbul side could sign him on a permanent deal.
The American right-back joined Newcastle United from Tottenham in 2016, and there were recent reports he’s triggered the possibility of a renewal. In that case, a loan move would be likelier.
Yedlin made 20 appearances in all competitions for Newcastle United last season, scoring one goal.
