According to Turkish website Transfer Merkez, Trabzonspor are in talks with Nottingham Forest with regards to loaning Joao Carvalho, with an option to buy.
Earlier this month we covered reports from Turkey that the Portuguese attacking midfielder is a target for Karadeniz Firtinasi, who are looking to strengthen their squad in January to boost their title chances.
Signing an attacking-minded midfielder is one of the priorities after selling Yusuf Yazici to Lille in the summer.
The Nottingham Forest player was linked with a move to Olympiacos during the last window, however, the Turkish media say Trabzonspor are also interested in signing him.
Carvalho cost Nottingham Forest €15m when he arrived from Benfica last year, but he’s only started seven Championship games for the club so far this season.
A loan move could be possible at this stage and Carvalho will be looking to get regular first-team football during the second half of the campaign.
