Flamengo have submitted an official bid for the signing of Manchester United midfielder Andreas Pereira, according to claims from Brazil.
TNT Sports reports the Brazilian side are now ‘close on agreeing’ the player’s permanent stay at the club.
The story doesn’t say exactly how much was offered. What they do know is that the Red Devils are playing ‘hard’ in the negotiations, and should let the 26-year-old leave for around €10m.
Pereira is said to be ‘happy’ and feeling ‘at home’ at Flamengo, and since he prioritises a place where he can have regular starts, that’s where he wants to be.
Since joining Flamengo in August 2021, Andreas has made 24 appearances, with five goals and one assist. His spell has been having ups and downs, with his last game being the Copa Libertadores final where he made a mistake which cost them the title.
Reports from Brazil had claimed that the loan included a buying option of €20m, but it was never really expected that the Rio de Janeiro side would spend that much on the player.
