Despite Como entering the race to try and sign the young Rocco Vata from Celtic, Bologna are still working on the Ireland U21 international, who isn’t in Brendan Rodgers’ plans at Parkhead.

That’s according to Il Resto del Carlino, relayed by TuttoBolognaWeb, who explain that the Serie A side are currently focused on incomings.

They have put on hold a couple of exits to ensure they aren’t left short of players, and that’s why they are trying to sign someone like the Celtic man to allow others to leave.

Those waiting are Tommaso Corazza and Kacper Urbanski, both wanted by Ternana on loan, but whose departures could see Thiago Motta struggling for personnel.

Therefore, Bologna are also ‘simultaneously trying to pick up’ young prospects such as Vata from Celtic and  midfielder Tim Paumgartner from FC Liefering in Austria.

For those who aren’t aware, the Glasgow born Ireland U19 international Rocco Vata is currently under contract at Celtic until the end of the year, which is why there is so much interest in him.
