Galatasaray have ‘started negotiations’ with Rangers FC over a move for Ryan Kent as they look to improve their options on the wings.

That’s according to Sabah, who say the Turkish side have ‘made the move’ for the winger and want him to ‘enrich’ their squad.

The newspaper explains that while the club were looking at various options to add to their squad, a ‘surprising name’ that came up was that of Kent.

Rangers are reportedly keen to move him on this summer as he is entering the final year of his contract. That means he could leave on a free next year, and it would be wiser to sell for a fee this year than lose him.

There is a possibility he could sign a new deal at Ibrox, but in the meantime, it appears Galatasaray are eyeing up a deal.

They’ve opened contacts with the player and his entourage to ‘convince’ the player, while they have also ‘started negotiations’ with those in charge at Rangers.

His current market value is €17.5m, but Galatasaray are instead looking to pay €7-8m with bonuses on top.

Whether that’s a price Rangers would accept isn’t mentioned, but their acceptable selling price will be determined by how contract negotiations with Kent go.

If it is clear he won’t be signing a new deal, it’s likely they’ll lower their demands.

At the moment, it seems negotiations are in their early stages, but journalist Gökhan Dinç also reports that Kent ‘was offered’ to Galatasaray and Besiktas.

That suggests a move away from Ibrox is very much on the cards this summer, presumably because of his contract situation.
