Galatasaray have opened talks with Leeds United defender Ezgjan Alioski after failing to get him in the January transfer window.
That’s what Eskisehir Haber 26 report today, stating that talks are already underway between Alioski’s agent and the Turkish club about a move in the summer.
The Leeds man was a target for the Super Lig club in January, and it was claimed he had reached a ‘principle agreement’ with them at one point.
A move never happened, though, with it later stated that Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa had blocked the move from happening.
Galatasaray’s interest has not gone away, though, and it’s claimed that Alioski remains a target for them ahead of the summer.
Eskisehir Haber state that after not achieving the success they expected this season, Gala are keen to refresh the squad and have ‘created transfer targets’ to do so.
One of those on the list is Alioski, and they have ‘started negotiations’ with his agent to make the move happen.
It’s claimed that the agent has been ‘contacted and interviewed’ with Alioski out of contract at Elland Road in the summer and ‘expected to leave’ when that contract expires.
Indeed, Galatasaray appear to be confident that they’ve got him, with Eskisehir Haber ending their article on the line ‘he is expected to play for Galatasaray in the new season’.
That would suggest those talks with his agent went very well, although for now, at least to our knowledge, he remains at Leeds.
