With Achraf Hakimi heading ever closer to Paris Saint-Germain, Inter are seriously looking at trying to bring in a replacement.
Despite the Moroccan going for a hefty fee, most of that money will be used to balance the books, and only a small amount will be allocated to luring the man capable of taking his spot.
One of the more heavily recurring names of late has been that of Arsenal’s Hector Bellerin, who could be on his way out of the Emirates.
Gazzetta dello Sport look at the situation on Monday, claiming the Spaniard ‘could become the bargain on which to focus, within set parameters’.
While not the only man on the list of Hakimi replacements, Bellerin is the name ‘more welcome’ than the others, and ‘the favourite in terms of talent and future possibilities’.
Inter are ready to make their first offer, which Gazzetta describing ‘the proposal that will be formulated to the Gunners is a loan with a rich option to buy after the first year’.
Arsenal are said to value their right-back at around €20m, and could end up ‘being open to the formula of the option to buy just to recoup money for a player who has ended up on the sidelines’.
For now, Inter will only be able to spend around €10m on Hakimi’s replacement, but this deal would allow to spend a bit more next year, when more money has arrived in their accounts.
In fact, ‘diplomacies are at work’ and it will ‘soon be known if margins exist to get to the bottom’ of a deal.
