If the Italian media are to be believed, a whole queue of players around Europe have offered themselves to Serie A clubs over the past week, one of them being Andre Schurrle.
Calciomercato report the Borrusia Dortmund player has been offered to Inter Milan, and whilst there’s been some long standing interest, they’ve ‘changed their mind’ and will stand back and let others try the signing.
Covering the Inter link to Schurrle, Germany’s Focus look at the situation today, and also reference West Ham interest.
West Ham have probably been the club most linked over the past month or so. At the end of December we covered explanations from Germany that Schurrle would be allowed to move to West Ham as long as an ‘acceptable’ offer arrived from the Hammers.
It made it sound like David Moyes had at least a reasonable chance of signing the player from Dortmund. With Inter Milan stepping aside, and nobody else seemingly coming in, the path is clear for West Ham.
It would be no surprise if, should the interest be real, the London club offer some kind of loan with a purchase option.
