Nigel Pearson seems to have brought a little (just a little) hope to Watford over the past few days, with players already talking about a possible positive step forward.
Losing 2-0 to Liverpool at the weekend didn’t gain any much needed points but it could have been much worse had the Hornets not performed to a reasonable standard.
Still stuck to the bottom of the Premier League, and now six points away from safety, there’s worry in Italy that Watford will be getting all the attention from the Pozzo family.
Also owning Udinese, there’s often talk in media close to the Serie A club about Watford getting all the family’s attention.
Udinese lost 3-1 to Juventus at the weekend, and are now two points above the relegation zone. UdineseBlog says the club ‘slowly dies’ and it’s not even thought there’s going to be effort during the January market.
That’s at least partly because Watford are taking the ‘mental resources’ of the owners, and there’s been claims from elsewhere that financial resources will also be concentrated on the English club.
That may be bad news for Udinese, and is clearly frustrating their fans, but it’ll be what Watford supporters want to hear.
