There’s a claim in the Dutch media that NEC are set for a financial windfall once AZ attacker Alireza Jahanbakhsh is sold to Brighton and Hove Albion.

The Iranian is closing in on a move to the Premier League side and his former club will reportedly receive a percentage of the transfer fee.

Voetbal International say with Brighton close to signing Jahanbakhsh, NEC will receive €1m from AZ once the deal goes through. The 24 year old spent just two seasons with NEC before signing for AZ in 2015.

It’s reported AZ will sell Jahanbakhsh for €25m, which will eclipse the fee Tottenham Hotspur paid the Dutch side for Vincent Janssen two years ago.

According to Voetbal International, the player has been on Brighton’s radar for the past three years, but he didn’t want to sign for a then Championship club when they were first keen.

However, with their promotion to the top flight Jahanbakhsh has welcomed the move to Brighton.
