Fanatik have reported Galatasaray are set to table bid for Middlesbrough forward Alvaro Negredo. The Turkish newspaper has claimed Galatasaray’s transfer committee are set for negotiations for Negredo.
The Turkish club will discuss a potential move for the striker as they look to replace former Arsenal player Lukas Podolski, who’ll join Vissel Kobe when the season ends.
After Middlesbrough’s relegation from the Premier League, it’s clear the English club won’t exercise the redemption clause they have on Negredo, so a move to Galatasaray could happen.
Galatasaray also have other forwards on their agenda including Manchester City’s Wilfried Bony and Nice’s Mario Balotelli. Fanatik said they are ready to discuss details with Valencia officials once they know of Middlesbrough’s intentions.
The Turkish giants are looking to sign a proven striker to solve their problems in attack, and Negredo seems to be a good option. The striker’s recent spell with Middlesbrough hasn’t been prolific, but he has proven himself in major leagues.
