As we all know by now, Valencia are expected to quickly lose Gonçalo Guedes to Wolverhampton Wanderers. Now it’s time to find a suitable replacement, and the local media already comes up with an option they have.
According to AS, the Mestalla side now ‘reactivates’ the track for Tottenham Hotspur winger Bryan Gil.
It’s said Valencia have it ‘clear’ he should be Guedes’ replacement in the squad. They’re now said to be interested in signing him on a season-long loan deal.
AS writes that the Spanish club have already made contact with Tottenham and Gil himself, and the ‘situation is on the right track’.
The 21-year-old had already been loaned to Valencia this year, having stayed there between January and June. And even though he’s been linked to other clubs this summer, his situation with Spurs remains undefined.
That’s good news for Valencia, and they should now be able to push forward for a deal, boosted by the cash they’ll expect from Wolves.
The report claims that with Gennaro Gattuso in charge, Gil could reach ‘his highest level’ in La Liga. It’s said he wants to return, so the decision should be up to Spurs now.
