Already a topic of discussion a week or so ago, AS Monaco’s attempts to sign Malang Sarr from Chelsea appear to have paid off.

This comes courtesy of Foot Mercato’s Santi Aouna, who claims on Monday via Twitter that there is now a ‘total agreement’ between the principality side and the Blues for the defender’s transfer.

The deal is a ‘loan with an option to buy’, although no amount has been mentioned as of yet, while a ‘medical is planned today and tomorrow’, suggesting the player is clearly keen on the move too.

In fact, Nabil Djellit is also claiming similar, stating the player is ‘currently undergoing his medical’ ahead of the move.

This is a return to Ligue 1 for the 23-year-old, who signed for Chelsea on a free after letting his OGC Nice contract run down in 2020, before heading on a season-long loan to Porto a few months later.

He was a part of Thomas Tuchel’s squad last season, but only boasts eight Premier League appearances to date, never managing to full break through at Stamford Bridge.

He now appears to be heading to Monaco for the season, where he will undoubtedly get more game time than at Chelsea, especially following the arrival of Kalidou Koulibaly.
