Milan are ‘seriously considering’ a move for Aston Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz as an alternative to Renato Sanches.
That’s according to TuttoMercatoWeb, who say the Italian club held a meeting with the Brazilian’s agent’s this afternoon at Milan’s headquarters.
That meeting was held so they could understand the ‘economic terms’ of a negotiation which could take off ‘in the coming days’.
Milan have turned their attention to the Aston Villa man as their efforts to sign Sanches are being thwarted by PSG, who are proving to be an ‘insurmountable’ obstacle.
Luiz is ‘seriously considering’ a departure from Villa Park this summer, with his contract there set to expire next June.
Indeed, a report today made it clear that his relationship with Steven Gerrard’s side was at an all-time low.
He had reportedly made it clear he does not intend to renew and had ‘practically broken up’ with the club as a result.
Roma were the club being most heavily linked, but now Milan are in the picture, and they would be a ‘welcome destination’ for him should he leave Aston Villa as expected.
