It appears that Hakim Ziyech is edging closer to an exit from Chelsea, if the latest from Italy is to be believed.
It’s no secret that Milan have been interested in the Morocco international for some time, often seen as the perfect recruit for Stefano Pioli, but a deal never went over the finish line.
This summer could be different, however, as the Serie A side recently won the league, and are preparing for a big season in the Champions League, meaning they have a bit more money.
Still, any deal involving the Chelsea forward would be a loan to start with, and Sport Mediaset believe it will come with a little bit extra.
They claim Milan ‘seem to be getting closer’ to Ziyech after the Italians ‘had another conversation with Chelsea’ and ‘would have decided to accept the obligation to buy’.
That means the forward would arrive at the San Siro on loan with a mandatory purchase clause, with all that’s needed now is for the two clubs to agree on numbers.
The outlet explain that Milan are prepared to pay €5m up front and €20m next year, while Chelsea are ‘pushing to raise the amount to be paid in a year to €25m’.
Despite this small disagreement, ‘the parties are close’, meaning the whole affair’s ‘closure could be very close’.
