Brighton & Hove Albion are in the picture to sign Rosario Central youngster Facundo Buonanotte, according to reports.

The 17-year-old came up through the ranks of the Argentine club’s youth system before he was handed a first team debut back in May, where he scored the winning penalty in the Copa Argentina clash against Sol de Mayo.

A day later, the midfielder signed his first professional contract and has continued to shine for Carlos Tevez’s side. His displays have caught Brighton’s attention.

According to TyC Sports, Rosario Central’s leaders have ‘received an offer’ of $4m [€4m] from the Seagulls. The Premier League side intend to sign the teenager now and send him back to the South American club on a loan deal.

Rosario Central are not willing to negotiate Buonanotte’s sale for two reasons. The first one is that they will have a presidential election in October and the other is that they have already agreed to sell Lautaro Blanco.

If Brighton continue to insist, then they will ask for more money from the Premier League side.

It needs to be seen whether Graham Potter’s side will make an improved bid or decide to walk away from a potential deal for Buonanotte.
