Bayern Munich have offered Manchester City Lucas Hernández as they ramp up their attempt to secure a deal for Leroy Sané.
The German giants are keen to secure the winger this summer after missing out on him last year when a deal was all but complete.
The Bavarian side looked to have signed Sané in a mega-money move after months of speculation before a severe injury picked up in the Community Shield win over Liverpool curtailed their plans.
They have kept a close eye on his recovery since then, with numerous reports suggesting they would return this summer.
That has proven to be the case, with it recently claimed they already have an agreement in place with the player, who is willing to take a pay cut to secure the move.
So far there has been no agreement with Manchester City, though, who are demanding a significant sum for the 24-year-old.
Bayern are yet to match it, with the relationship between the two clubs becoming fraught as the Germans attempt to bring City’s price tag down.
Their efforts to find an agreement have now seen them offer defender Lucas Hernández in an attempt to tempt City into a deal.
That’s according to TZ, who say the Frenchman has been offered around Europe as the Germans are keen to get rid this summer.
Hernandez has struggled for fitness and form since an €80m move from Atlético Madrid 13 months ago and the emergence of Alphonso Davies has made him a spare part at the Allianz.
He’s now been offered to several big European clubs and was even discussed in the negotiations with Manchester City for Sané.
So far, there has been nothing ‘concrete’ but the website state the market is yet to get going as a result of the Coronavirus outbreak.
Whether City would be interested in the defender isn’t mentioned, but if Bayern show no appetite to meet their asking price for Sané, perhaps a deal involving Hernández, who can play both at centre-back or left-back, would make sense for all concerned.
