Napoli are ‘ready to accept’ €50m for long-term Manchester United target Kalidou Koulibaly this summer as the player considers leaving the club after seven years.
That’s according to Il Roma, relayed by TuttoNapoli, who say the defender, who once saw a £100m+ offer from Manchester United rejected, is available for over half that price this summer.
Koulibaly has long been considered one of the best centre-backs in Europe and has regularly been linked with a move to the Premier League over the last few years.
For the last year, it has been Manchester City who have been the most linked, but before that, it was Manchester United, with Gazzetta Dello Sport reporting in 2019 that they had made a £100m+ move for him.
That obviously never happened, with the club instead electing to spend their money, £80m of if it, in fact, on Harry Maguire.
Their interest has never gone away, though, and with them reportedly looking for another centre-back this summer, now could be the time to get Koulibaly.
Il Roma explain that Napoli are ‘ready to accept’ €50m for the Senegalese defender in the summer, and ‘many’ clubs are ‘on the trail’.
One of those are Manchester United, who are one of the clubs to have ‘wanted him some time ago’, as well as Liverpool and Paris Saint Germain.
There is no mention of any of those making a move as yet, with the player set to be the one to ‘decide his next destination’ when the time comes.
