The situation of Manchester City loanee Uriel Antuna continues to get some new developments which makes a move a lot more complicated.

The winger is having a loan spell at LA Galaxy which expires in December. And his good form in the MLS has not only convinced Galaxy to try to keep him for longer, but also attracted the interest from Mexican sides such as Chivas Guadalajara.

That’s why it’s been reported that Chivas made a US$11m bid for the player this week, which has been turned down by Manchester City.

And earlier today, we’ve covered claims saying things are not so simple for Chivas to sign him permanently. That’s because when selling him to City, Santos Laguna kept 50% of his rights and made a deal so they can match any offers he gets.

So besides negotiating with Manchester City, Chivas would also have to wait and see if Santos Laguna are matching their bid.

But some updates from Mexico make things sound even more confusing. Because according to El Universal, Galaxy have an agreement with Manchester City to extend the loan deal.

The outlet says this was dome a couple of months ago, and the MLS side will have him on another loan during the year of 2020. That’s why they have ‘so much of a voice’ in the negotiations.

If that’s true, it sounds very unlikely that any Mexican club could find a deal with Manchester City to cancel this loan, unless there’s a clause about this in the deal with Galaxy.
